LD children paying parents for board and lodging

I’ve just come across details of a case which may be relevant.
I know some councils expect to see a formal agreement before agreeing that board and lodging effectively count as DRE.
There is a case involving “Wychaven District Council v EM”.
My summary is that where someone with LD needs something vital, even if they can’t give consent, it should be taken as necessary and therefore must be paid.
(Maybe one of our helpline advisors could write a proper summary for us?)
