The OT should bring her home, see how she accesses the home, and facilities, decide what additional aids and adaptations she needs, and ensure that they are all in place and working BEFORE there is any talk of discharge!

Bowlingbun she is already at home but her dementia has become worse recently so I do still think she should have an O.T. assessment

However, if the social worker is so concerned, then she should arrange an URGENT OT assessment. In Hampshire, the council has it’s own OT service, linked to the NHS service.

The mattress that come with community beds (hospital beds) are in a waterproof cover. You just need to wash or wipe them down.
