Unpaid caring Funding Questions?

How much money is provided for unpaid carer support, are there any figures per year?

and who decides how the money is spent?

I have asked for advocacy, but as soon, as I mentioned I am an unpaid carer then I was refused Advocacy. The Advocacy place do not get funding for unpaid carers.

But under the Care Act Advocacy can be provided, No we don’t do that for unpaid carers.

Where can I find out where the money goes, I am repeatedly told by organisations that they have no Funding for unpaid carers, so therefore cannot help.
Freedom of information request? to the council.

Indeterminable … funds often provided to LAs for X are not ring fenced in many cases.

The main CARE ACT thread examines this issue.

LAs themselves … a real post code lottery.

LA Advocacy ?

An example … from Staffordshire County Council :

Social Services are the ones to arrange advocacy for you. Then they get the bill!

Where can I go for independent advocacy in Staffordshire?

The stautory advocacy provider for adults across Staffordshire is currently Total Voice Staffordshire.
