So you have retired! And how do you enjoy being a man of leisure?
Couldn’t agree more, @Denis_1610
Oh I have had that from two people in the last two weeks - really p*ssed me off cos they know the situation. Changed the car for convenience so G can get in and one said ‘oh retired and buying new car - round the world cruise next is it?’
My son had a taxi to take him to school 15 miles away. The owner of the taxi company told me in her opinion the money the council spent on school transport for special needs kids would be much better spent on the normal kids!!! I said nothing, because once I started, it wouldn’t end well. A few years later, her grand daughter was born…with serious disabilities! Then she wanted support from me!!!
I am sorry - please explain - what is a “normal” kid? I am not sure there is such a thing.
To quote Rene Artois from 'Allo 'Allo “You stupid Woman…” Comment like that yet she was still happy to line her own pockets from the Council Payments to her business!!!
Reminds me of some kids when I was at school - told me ‘you’re not normal’…Oh boy things I found out about them in later life - made me look positively “normal” and even “saintly”…
Those without developmental delay was what I was thinking about with regard to “normal”, but I get your point.
We always say “we know we are nuts, but happy with it!”
We’d all better watch out for squirrels…
I always hear the cadbury’s advert…'Nuts whole hazel nuts…cadbury’s …
OR
Everyone’s a fruit and nut case…
Yes I loved chocolate as a kid
slight digression! Can you tell I’m hungry!
One big thing that gets me upset is added stress to your role as a carer. I don’t mean like normal thing like traffic jams, travelling at slow speeds like 20 mph. What I mean is when you find out more about a problem from talking to others about a issue but others have added fuel to the fire and made you out to be something else than you are not as no one takes the time of day to talk to a person about things as they already feel like they are carrying on their shoulders the world with out more being added.
(((HUGS))) Michael. I know exactly what you mean. I do my best to keep smiling and put a brave face on, when inside I’m feeling the absolute opposite.
Here’s one for you being singled out for being carer. One rule for paid and retired people and another for one for us classed as unpaid carer. I sorry if it sounds or coming across wrong but lately that how I have seen things.
