Hi guys, at the end of January my mum had a massive relapse of her rare neurological condition. I’ve been an OT for years and was a carer before that so I know what help she needs and how to get it. While this is a head start absolutely nothing could have prepared me for having a suddenly quite severely disabled mum and all that brings. It’s a role reversing, role blurring, mind blowing rollercoaster.
Caring is tough…most definitely a roller coaster!
Sorry to hear about mum. How old is she? Is she mentally OK, or is her intellect now affected?
Have you contacted Social Services and got a care plan in place?
Sorted out her benefits?
No need to ask about aids and adaptations though, I’m sure you’ve got those sorted asap!
