If exercise and movement are so important to us unpaid carers, why on earth aren’t CarersUK banging on every Social Services door demanding free swimming and gym facilities for carers?
£86.45 a week doesn’t even cover the cost of a healthy weekly food shop let alone just one swimming pool ticket.
Have you had a Carers Assessment? They are supposed to look at the support you need in your caring role. That includes things like swimming and gym. I kicked up a fuss and got it backdated in the end.
You must have a generous local authority. Mine in Peterborough is run like Fagins Lair.

Not generous at all. The Ombudsman was mainly responsible. Long story.
