Direct payments v continuing healthcare in wales

Which is better?

I can only speak for England. Direct Payments administered by Social Services, they charge the client an amount depending on income and savings. Over £23,000? You pay for it all.
CHC? All care, nursing and social, paid for by the NHS and you keep you savings and income intact.

Definitely CHC - but here it’s a postcode lottery!

it’s not something you can choose between, its more a case of whether someone qualifies for continuing health care or not, with the added complication that it is easier to get CHC in some areas than others.
