Listening Support Service

Due to an increase in demand, we are temporarily unable to accept any new referrals for our Listening Support Service. 

We expect the service to be open to receive new referrals again towards the end of the year. If you would like to be contacted when the service is re-open for referrals then please complete our short form and we will get in touch as soon as we are able offer this support. 

Other sources of emotional support

In the meantime, if you are looking for emotional support, you may wish to contact one of the following organisations:

  • You may wish to talk to your GP about how you are feeling. Visit our page on talking to your GP for more information.

  • Shout is the UK’s first 24/7 text service, free on all major mobile networks, for anyone in crisis anytime, anywhere. It’s a place to go if you’re struggling to cope and you need immediate help. It is free to text Shout 85258 from all major mobile networks in the UK.
  • Mind have an Infoline providing an information and signposting service for people concerned about their own or someone else's mental health. They're open 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday (except for bank holidays). You can contact them for non-urgent support on 0300 123 3393This email address is being protected from spambots. The Listening Support Service is supported by Barclays LifeSkills, Marie-Louise von Motesiczky Charitable Trust and, in Wales, by the Welsh Government.

Barclays LifeSkills is an employability programme that aims to help everyone in the UK to gain the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in work.

Marie-Louise von Motesiczky Charitable Trust is named after the acclaimed artist Marie-Louise von Motesiczky (1906-96), who cared for her mother in later life and produced several portraits of her.

The Listening Support Service in Wales is funded by the Welsh Government through the Sustainable Social Services Third Sector Grant.
